Writing instantly at times is so tough even for professional writers. You don’t have that motivation and feel to talk about something. Per me writing takes passion but selecting a topic needs a kick … This is something that happened with me today. With a blank word document right in front of me I started thinking about “topics” – Good, Bad, Ugly; but couldn’t find one. So I thought about a phase of life gone long back, when one of my girl friends got involved in a relationship with a younger guy. For me it was kind of unusual to understand at that point of time that why can’t two people who like each other plan to spend rest of their life together? Probably, I was not in that situation.
COUGAR or PUMA is a term quoted for “An elder woman with a younger boy”. Cougar is a woman in her 40’s and is dating a man who is at least 8 years younger to him. While a PUMA is in 30’s and simply dates younger men. We can say a PUMA possibly is a COUGAR in training. More often our society considers them as a predator, which definitely is ridiculous. Actually, these could be seen the other way round to empower women. Just think for a second – Why would a woman who is financially stable, attractive, confident and successful seek a man who is still getting settled?
Honestly, I feel there is another side to this story. These women are irresistible. They are not quite dependent on younger men and are wanted. She is the one who is being hunted and is not the hunter. Trust me this is certainly not the “Hollywood” or “Western” style of living. Our very own tribe in Orissa follows a culture where “Men marry elder women”. Malkangiri Tribe it is. Per me this is a case of mind over matter. Those not interested are free to ignore … others can at least think about it!!
